English Definition
(Sanskrit) Sense organ or faculty. In Indian philosophy, it refers to the instruments of cognition and action. There are usually ten indriyas: five of perception (Jnanendriya) and five of action (Karmendriya), with the mind (Manas) often considered the eleventh.
